3 Ways I Help My Clients Make Great Videos

Everyone can use a coach every now and then, especially when it comes to creating great videos. Here’s how I help my clients level up their content.

The best way to create a powerful video? Have a conversation. It’s a technique I talk about all the time. (You can check out my other content for more on that.) But the real secret to ensuring a smooth, productive conversation is having a partner who can help keep you on track and focused.

1) Prompt Based on the Big Idea

I started by helping Timothy get clear on the big idea he wanted to share. This step is crucial because it ensures he’s focusing on what truly matters, which is what’s going to bring value to his audience. You can’t skip this part if you want your message to hit home.

→ Start with a prompt based on the main idea you’re trying to convey. Then, just start talking.

2) Point Out Where People Lose the Plot

As business owners or creators, it’s easy to get caught up in our own excitement and forget that our audience doesn’t have the same depth of knowledge we do. One of the fastest ways to lose your viewer’s attention is forgetting to include key context.

→ Here, Timothy needed to connect marketing to the concepts he was trying to explain more explicitly.

3) Guide the Conversation In-Depth

No one wants to make a generic video. You know, one you watch and think, “That’s cool, but I already know that.” I guide my clients to explore specific details, connect higher-level ideas, and talk about what they can bring to the table that no one else can.

→ In this session, I pointed out to Timothy that he really needed to highlight the tension between quality and quantity in his content. That was an insight only he could provide.

Creating great videos is all about having a conversation that resonates. And with the right coaching, you’ll always have someone there to guide you and make your content more impactful.

Want a session like this? Get in touch, I’d love to help.
