What Makes You Successful with Video on LinkedIn

Justin Vajko • August 6, 2025

What makes you successful with video content on LinkedIn is NOT the video content.

That might sound like it makes no sense, but stay with me.

A lot of people have this misconception.

They look at video content and they think, “Wow, look at these other guys. If I just put out videos and it’ll solve my marketing problems.”

But LinkedIn is not a social media platform first.

It’s designed to be a networking platform above everything else.

So if all you do is post and ghost, you’re not going to see results.

Even if the content is fire (as my kids say).

Instead, treat LinkedIn like a networking platform.

→ Spend time there in the ecosystem
→ Make connections with people
→ Start conversations and respond to comments (yes, even something as simple as, “Great video! Loved it”)

That will be the #1 factor to your success with video content.

(plus it adds to the value of what you’re already doing)

You can’t make it on LinkedIn with video content…

…if you can’t even make it ON LinkedIn.

So log on, spend some time there, and engage.

Otherwise, you won’t see the results you want from your video content. No matter how hard you try.
