Before you buy video equipment, do this
The biggest problem to doing video is not what you think.
You might think it's:
- scratchy audio
- a thumbnail where you look goofy
- distracting background
But there's another, earlier issue:
--> Piling thousands of dollars of equipment into your Amazon cart...
...and then never using it because of the overwhelming stress.
Yet buyers completely disregard polish as an important factor in video. I've published videos where I took meticulous time to get every detail right. Beautiful-sounding audio, cool editing effects, and perfect lighting.
And I’ve also published videos where it’s just me and my camera going outside for a walk.
Guess what?
They got the same amount of views.
What matters to your viewers is your insight. They want to know if you know your stuff. They want to hear your stories and day-to-day experiences.
That’s the value you bring to video, not your face in 4k. (although I’m sure you look great)
If you want 1 easy place to start with gear, there’s this tripod you can get for your phone that I recommend to all your clients.
It’s about 10 bucks on Amazon. Link to the tripod:
